The majority of Camps are open to people of all ages - come on your own or come with friends / families / teammates. Residential (accommodation included) and non-residential packages are available. 24 hour supervision/care is also included in the Youth Camp packages for players/riders aged 10 to 17 years. The Camps are taught/run in english and are attended from people all over the world, mostly from the UK but also many countries in Europe as well as America etc. If english is not your first language you might also like to take some optional english conversational classes during the Camp. Or you can work on your French or Spanish too depending on whether you attend the Camps in France or Spain. As the RHUK Inline Roller Hockey Spanish Camp went so well in 2006 and the facilities in Barcelona are so good (with a great programme combining training, drills and matches with beach time, activities and excursions) we decided to offer football and basketball coaching alongside roller hockey coaching this year. It was a great success, basically 3 Camps in one with people able to do their favourite sport and then get together for trips to the beach, activities etc. We'll be offering the same level of expert coaching in these two sports as we do in roller hockey with GB and International coaches on the staff rosta for the Kickers Football / Soccer Camps and the Hoopers Basketball Camps.Do you have any mates who love football and basketball as much as you love inline hockey?! The Camps are great fun with expert coaching, great facilities, a brilliant atmosphere and plenty of opportunity to make loads of new friends who share your passion for hockey, to improve your hockey skills and skating and take them to the next level... and to have an unforgettable week getting to know Barcelona, enjoying the beaches, the water park and lots of activities like swimming, 10 pin bowling, basketball, football, climbing etc etc.
We decided to offer two new sports on the Spanish Camp for 2007 as a bunch of people we know who play soccer and basketball were asking for about 3 years when we were going to organise a Summer Camp for them!
Now you can have a brilliant holiday with friends who share your love for roller hockey AND with mates who don't play roller hockey but do play football or basketball and fancy a great trip out to Spain with you this Summer. Everyone will be together outside of the training sessions and matches, for the excursions, activities and accommodation etc. (Or if you fancy a break from roller hockey yourself this year but still want to have a holiday with old hockey friends... now you have some options!)
The Rotherham Camp (at Virtual Ice Inline Arena) and the Bisley Camp (at the Lord Roberts Centre) attracted over 60 players aged 8 to 17 years and were great fun with some fantastic hockey, lots of long hours and hard training, and plenty of entertainment including bowling and cinema trips, visits to Alton Towers and Thorpe Park, and RHUK's own Mini-Stanley Cup Tournaments.
